The girls’ varsity basketball team had their senior night in the field house on February 5th.
The seniors Ava Hall and Emma Morris had their senior night. With it being their senior night, it just so happened that they played their rivals. While playing this game, the final score was 32-33, with Poland taking the win.
The team started with a junior varsity team. However, they only played two quarters, as well as a varsity team. They became a varsity only team.
Struthers was within reach of the win the whole entire game, until their last moments.
“We played Poland and it was a close game up until the final few seconds, a senior on their team had a put-back buzzer beater, and they won by one point,” says Morris.
In life, people have ideas on what they would go back and do over. Or they feel they wouldn’t change anything. That goes the same way in sports.
Morris feels that she would’ve gone back to make sure the ball dropped so that Struthers would’ve gotten the win.
“I would go back to senior night and make sure no one got that rebound, so we won,” says Morris.
Somebody that plays sports all their lives most likely continues to play sports after high school. They also tend to play multiple sports. However, we don’t always know the reasoning behind playing sports.
Morris decided to play basketball because it was the most liked sport since she knew of it at the age of 7 to 8.
“I chose to play basketball because it’s been one of my favorite sports ever since I was introduced to it around age 7 or 8. There’s always so much room for improvement and creativity in the sport… I plan on playing basketball and softball in college,” says Morris.
