The Pittsburgh Pirates start off the season with some wins early on.
The Pirates haven’t been too good in recent years, and they are hoping to change that this year with a couple wins to kick off the new season.
Pittsburgh started off 8-2 at the very beginning of the season. They played 4 games against the Marlins, won all 4, played the Nationals 3 times, won 2 out of 3, and played the Orioles 3 times and won twice. This is one of the best starts they have had in a while.
It has been a very long time since they have started a season off this hot.
“This marks the first time since 1983 that the Pirates have started a season 5-0. They have now achieved the feat six times in franchise history,” says Sam Connon.
Even with the ot start the Pirates still have a negative record. As of right now they are 14-17 which is not too good considering their 8-2 start. Lately, they have been losing a ton of games.
They are on a cold streak right now and are looking for a win in the next game.
“The Pirates lost for the eighth time in 11 games, dropping to 6-4 in games started by an opposing lefty,” says CBS News.
The Pirates are looking to start winning games like they were doing at the start of the season. If they keep playing how they’ve been, that’s not going to be easy though.
They are projected to win 73 games but that might not happen.
“As the season got underway, Vegas Insider projected the Pirates at 73.5 wins,” says Justin Guerrriero.
