Michael Oher was a young man with a hard childhood growing up. He gave nothing but time and dedication and never gave up to become a strong independent man with a loving family.
“The Blind Side” was a movie released on November, 20, 2009. The movie is based on a true story and shows the life of a young man who had no family and was homeless. He would wander the streets late at night with no jacket and wore the same clothes almost every single day. This family came across him at a volleyball game when he was cleaning in between all the bleachers, and they offered him a ride. They saw he had nowhere to go and let him stay there with them. They started buying him new clothes and got him into schooling. He started to become noticed for his height and size and coaches began to really look at him.
One good aspect of this movie is when the Oher family took in Michael and helped him with his studies and got him into college to play football. He became a legend and was known by all. He started to open up and become comfortable around all the people he had just met. The mother was his biggest motivation and pushed him to always do better and helped him become successful.
One bad aspect of this movie is when he went and found his real mother and family members, and they were in poor condition. His older neighborhood was a bad environment and all he remembered was his childhood trauma. He dragged him down and made him feel like he was nobody when he’s reminded where he came from. It made him really quiet and closed off over time.
This movie deserves a 10/10 rating due to the way Michael’s story is portrayed. They hit all the key points and leave a really motivational impression on kids his age that there is hope and you can become successful regardless of where you come from.
