The NFC took down the AFC in the second ever Pro Bowl games on February 4, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.
Both teams looked to showcase their odd skills in different games like Madden, flag football and dodgeball.
During the Thursday skill showcase, Madden was one of the most hyped up events. Wide receiver, Puka Nacua and linebacker, Micah Parsons represented the NFC while wide receiver, Tyreek Hill and tight end, David Njoku represented the AFC. The NFC took an early commanding lead 15-3 at half. The NFC did not slow down by scoring even more in the second half. The final score ended at 36-14 with Puka Nacua taking home the MVP.
Micah Parsons brought his signature trash talk into the game to get into the AFC’s head.
“Slight work. And that field position! We getting three no matter what. I’m gonna take my three. But we ain’t gonna settle for no field goal,” says Parsons.
A game that is played almost every year in the pro bowl is the QB precision passing. The best QB’s in the league get to show off their arm talent to everyone watching and compete to be crowned the winner of best passer. The 2024 precision passing championship came down to NFC quarterback, Baker Mayfield and AFC quarterback, C.J Stroud. Mayfield took the win over C.J Stroud in an insanely close game with the end result being 9-8.
Baker thought it was a measure of revenge following his last loss to Detroit in the playoffs.
“Well the last pass I threw was to Derrick Barnes in Detroit,” says Mayfield.
Thursday was for the wacky skill games to have fun, but Sunday was championship day. The pro bowl all came down to the biggest event of the show, the flag football game. Houston Texans QB, Stroud led the AFC to a win in the flag football game after a stellar performance. He threw for a game high 173 yards with 2 touchdowns and a 2 point conversion.
Stroud addressed the media on what it meant to be selected to the pro bowl.
“That was a goal of mine, to be a Pro Bowler and to be at the top of my game at this point,” says Stroud.
