PASTELLA PASSES THROUGH BASKETBALL SEASON

Anthony Pastella, sophomore, is a multi-sport athlete for the Cats.

Anthony Pastella is a sophomore at Struthers High School and is ecstatic to be a part of the Struthers basketball team. 

Pastella plays multiple sports such as baseball, football and basketball. The team has won a good amount of games with a record of 9-7 with 3 more games remaining. The athlete thinks that he is a very good addition to the team. He brings his team to victory and is the JV team’s starting point guard. Pastella is a huge leader on the team and enjoys having this crucial role.

He sees himself as a leader and benefits the team by starting different plays because of his position as point guard.

“I play point guard, and it helps the team because I start the plays. It makes me a leader,” says the sophomore.

As a leader, he is feeling confident about his performance over this past season. Pastella scores lots of points for his team that helps them win games. The student feels that, overall, he and the Struthers basketball team are having a pretty good season all together.

To bring his team to victory, he scores lots of points and it leads him to having a successful season.

“I think I’m having a good season because I’m scoring a lot and helping my team win games,” says Pastella.

The basketball player thinks the team works well together. They all have a strong bond that helps them come together and improve through the duration of the season. He enjoys the company of his teammates, and it reflects positively on the coach. Pastella believes that his coach has faith in the team which makes it easier to help the team improve.

The eam works very well together and it helps the coach make decisions and have pride in the team.

“I feel like if we work as a team, we are really good, and our coach believes in us to make decisions that can help us win,” says the athlete.

Samantha Minno is a 16 year old sophmore. She is a feature writer in Journalism I.  During school, Samantha likes to hangout with her friends and does many different extracurriculars. She is involved in lots of clubs like, Student Council, Pep Club, Spanish Club, Future Teachers Club, and Interact Club. She is playing her 11th year of softball and is on the junior varsity cheerleading squad. Samantha’s favorite food is spaghetti and chicken nuggets. She loves the color hot pink and enjoys watching Netflix. One of her favorite things to do is be with her dog Zeke or spend her Friday nights at football games with her cheer squad and close friends.  She hopes to get into NHS her junior year and maintain her 4.0 GPA throughout the rest of her sophomore year. Samantha wants to have lots of fun with her friends and meet new people throughout the school year. She enjoys the journalism class because she is surrounded by friendly people and enjoys the subject as well.
