LESKO PROVIDES A DEEP INSIGHT INTO TEACHING SCIENCES

Mr. Lesko is a science teacher at SHS.

Struthers High School Science Teacher Mr. Lesko has been consulting students with proper scientific knowledge for quite awhile now, including with all years of teaching experience devoted for Struthers High School.

Consequently, it’s helpful to advise a background into his studies in relation to his personal knowledge aspect in the field of science.

In that context, Lesko says “As I would mention, I went to Girard High School and attended YSU for college.”

In comprehension, it’ll be desirable to understand why he honored himself into the science field.

In consideration, Lesko says “It’s the most important, educational subject in the world. It allows our society to continue to make advancements in an effort to benefit the entire world.”

With this in mind, Lesko demonstrated his science skills and interests to other students at Struthers High School by, of course, being a science teacher. In addition, Lesko prefers to spend his time as a teacher to engage with young minds to increase the amount of knowledge they possess; thus, he prefers to prepare students for real-life situations and careers after High School. However, Lesko only teaches physical sciences like chemistry and physics, so his teachings won’t be provided for those not interested; but, nevertheless, he still prefers to encourage students to reach academic successes in the science field.

As a result, it’s appreciable and only fair to discover what he views as a science teacher, moreover to his personal preferences as to teaching to students.

To that, he says “I like working with students that struggle with a concept and who eventually have a light switch moment where they now understand the material– it’s my favorite thing when being a teacher. For that, I enjoy most of my days as being a teacher”

In contrary, Lekso dislikes grading papers as his least favorite thing to do as a teacher; similarly, his inconveniences are mostly directed towards preparing more labs, either physical or chemical, as it includes material to be learned beforehand. Sometimes, labs can take a little longer than usual which acts upon as a residual of time to material that needs to be learned afterwards, or, after the lab. This creates numerous setbacks to materials, somewhat disorganized future plans, and usually results in tough solutions to complete a lab.

Nevertheless, meanwhile, Lesko provides a statement on his views towards his students and how their cooperation with assignments, materials, and labs can undergo.

To that, Leskos says “I view students as good students and good people, unless they’ll prove me otherwise.”

For additional information, Lesko informs about extracurricular activities like coaching and club organizing, what he does for them, and his favorite part in them.

In which, Lesko says “I coach the Mineral Ridge High School volleyball team. As the head coach I plan and prepare everything that is needed to make it through a high school season. Most favorite part of coaching is seeing players succeed on the court. This doesn’t mean winning. I am talking about athletes growing as players developing skills that we work hard on developing in practice, then they successfully apply that skill set in competition. Finally, getting to watch their faces light up when they witness their own success. My least favorite part is the paperwork. Additionally, I don’t have any clubs nor organize any clubs; however, I would like to create a sportsman club as I like fishing and hunting.”

Overall, in conclusion, Lesko improves full details on his career and opinions as being a science teacher, also providing changes he would like to create like organizing a sportsman club and preparing the Mineral Ridge High School volleyball team to succeed by encouraging them and allowing them to practice for future volleyball games. 

It’s hard to not question what he would do if he wasn’t a science teacher nor a volleyball coach.

In which, Lesko says “I would probably be a Game Warden. The opportunity to be outdoors and deal with some very different situations on a day to day basis.”

In addition, Lekso improvises details to if he wasn’t a science teacher for Struthers, given the opportunities to join another popular school, will he do so?

To that, Lesko says “I don’t know that there is any place that is more famous than Struthers. The only city in the United States that doesn’t have its own cemetery.”

This is due to the fact that Struthers feels lively and it reminds him of the community he grew up in (Girard) which has always made it feel like home to me. Overall, showing his love for Struthers.

Brady is a Junior at Struthers High School and is 16 years old. He is in Journalism I. Brady enjoys Chemistry, Mathematics, and Law Studies, and his favorite teacher is Mrs. Mickler. Brady enjoys instrumental, electronic music and his favorite series is either “Star Wars” or “Harry Potter.” Brady usually plays video games and writes about his creative imagination recreationally.  Brady expects Journalism to be a lot about writing sufficient new articles to the Student Prints. Brady enrolled into featuring teachers and their bios and impact on the school foregrounds. He’ll investigate and ask questions to those working around the school and give information to students and other teachers about working with organizing their professions. Brady would usually like to work with teachers he’s more familiar with as to gather more information out of them to make a useful point about their biography. Brady has superior times with many of these teachers, especially Mickler and is really looking forward to interviewing Mickler to organize an informational resource in the student prints speaking all about herself. In question with Brady, he speaks with Mickler that he'd like to save Mickler best for last when it comes to interviewing as she was explained to be his favorite teacher. Soon, every article will be written steadily and the feature side of things will be more grand than ever before.

Ava Pokopatz is a senior at Struthers High School and is 17 years old. This is her first year in Journalism.  Ava’s favorite food is sushi and pasta. She really enjoys going out with her friends and just going and driving around. She is a member of the National Honors Society. She is planning on having the best time and memories during her senior year.  Ava has been involved in the Struthers school community for a little while. She was a part of the track team her freshman and sophomore year, but she does plan on running again for her senior year. She is also participating in many different clubs through the school. She has been a wildcat for almost her whole life.  Ava is really looking forward to experiencing journalism and finding her writing style. She really enjoys writing so this will be a great way for her to express herself. She is doing this with her favorite teacher Mrs. Mickler, so she is going to have an amazing year.
