“Home Alone” is a classic family and comedy film that was released in 1990. It was directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes.

The movie stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, a young boy who is accidentally left behind when his family goes on vacation for Christmas. Kevin first reacts and enjoys his freedom until he has to defend himself from two burglars, Harry and Marv. Kevin defends himself using silly traps.

The humor in “Home Alone” is a huge part of the film’s fame. The clever ways Kevin outsmarts the burglars is truly hilarious. The burglar’s endure many painful injuries that result in being funny. The humor in this movie also contributes to how many children enjoy the film. Because Kevin is a little boy; many children resonate with him.

“Home Alone” has left a big mark on popular culture since its release in 1990. Its popularity can be seen in various forms, including references in other movies and TV shows, parodies and merchandise. The film’s iconic scenes, especially Kevin’s creative booby traps, have been turned into hilarious moments.

Many viewers appreciate its creativity, making it a holiday favorite. The movie gets a 9/10.

Skylar Bark is a 15 year old sophomore at Struthers High School. She is in Journalism II. Skylar’s favorite subject in school is math, her favorite teacher is her geometry teacher, Mr. Silver. Skylar enjoys hanging out with her friends, watching shows, and going shopping. Skylar’s favorite show is “Breaking Bad,” she also really enjoys listening to music. Skylar plays the trombone in the Struthers Marching Band, and works at Dairy Queen.  Skylar’s favorite part of Journalism is that you can choose to write about whatever you like and it’s fun. Skylar’s plan for the year is to have A’s and B’s for the school year and continue to succeed.
