CANADA’S OFFENSE

Matt Canada is the Pittsburgh Steelers Offensive Coordinator.

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense has struggled immensely throughout the season so far. Somehow, they stand with a 4 and 2 record being second in the division.

The Steelers will continue to try to win games, but the guy who is calling the plays might be what keeps them from winning some of them.

Matt Canada is the current offensive coordinator for the Steelers, but everyone wants him to be fired. The Steelers have playmakers such as George Pickens and Dionte Johnson on offense. They needed to have a solid offense, but the plays that he calls ruins it. The fans are fed up with it and are waiting for the day he is gone.

Even though the fans of the Steelers love the organization, they made sure to give their opinion on the playcalling.

“Last Monday night, Pittsburgh Steelers fans made it crystal clear just how they felt about their offensive coordinator, Matt Canada. As the team struggled offensively against the Cleveland Browns, fans in attendance began to chant, and what they said could be heard around the stadium echoing. Those words chanted ‘Fire Canada,’” says Tony Catalina.

Canada’s play calling makes the Steelers have a very inefficient offense. They only win games because the defense can make stops and sometimes can even score themselves. The Steelers are 19-3-1 when holding the opposing team to 22 points or less. However, they are 1- 15 when they let up more than that.

The offense just can’t perform under Canada and the defense has to step up big time, or they won’t win any games.

“The equation is simple: solid defense equals victories for Pittsburgh. Poor defensive outings? A loss is guaranteed, given how uninspiring the offense has been,” according to Sportsgrid.com.

These slow starts from the Pittsburgh offense kill the Steelers in most games. They always give the other team a lead and make themselves have to come back later in the game.

They rarely get early leads because of how inefficient the offense is, but when they do, it’s probably because of the defense.

“The only time this season the Steelers hopped out to an early lead was in week 2 against the Browns, thanks to an Alex Highsmith pick-six,” says Nick Farabaugh.
