The Struthers Wildcats played soccer this season and tried to redeem themselves.
The fall season means that soccer has started up again.
Struthers is a good program for new people that want to try soccer for the first time.
“Some pros of playing for Struthers is how they are a learning program. Some are able to come in the first year and learn mostly everything about soccer. But that can also be a con. Most schools have programs since elementary school and us only having a high school team can be a disadvantage,” says senior soccer player Marrisa Orbin.
There were some close games throughout the season. There was one close game in particular, and that happened to be senior night.
The senior night was a tight game due to many reasons, including rough calls and being rough towards each other.
“The closest game would be our senior night game. Girard is a very aggressive. competitive team and has back and forth fouls and calls. The score ended 0-1 with Girard winning the game,” says Orbin.
Orbin didn’t expect her soccer senior season to go the way it did. She came back to play her senior year after not playing for two years and ended up injured with an ACL tear. That led to her not even playing and having to watch from the side lines.
Even though Orbin enjoys playing soccer, she is not aiming to play soccer after this season.
“I do not plan on playing after high school. Having the injury I have, I wouldn’t be able to play for a while and I would be rusty. I am also afraid of tearing my ACL again,” says Orbin.
