Lots of students struggle to come to school prepared on Mondays due to having a long weekend and being tired. If pajama day was implemented, students would have something to look forward to and be comfortable while doing it.

Students have a higher chance of showing up to school if there’s an incentive attached to it.

During the school day, students may have a hard time focusing because their clothes are uncomfortable or they are feeling tired. According to a recent study, a frequent pajama day can give your brain a mental, physical, and spiritual rest for the day. According to Health Benefits of Pajama Days, “When thinking through the different types of rest, I realized that a simple pajama day can help achieve many of these types of rest.” This helps support the idea of a frequent pajama day.

Most schools disagree with this idea and see no benefit in doing this. Lots of teachers will argue this is a bad idea and it is “unsafe” in a school setting because it causes distraction. Teachers may also think having a weekly pajama day will take away from the school day because kids will fixate on pajama day.

Some things that need to change in school for students to have a pajama day is to have the school board do research on the topic and see the benefits that this may have. If students are allowed to have this pajama day, then schools will see attendance go up, better grades and even more participation from students.

According to recent studies, students should have a pajama day every Monday to have a better school year.
