Myles Garrett has been leading the Browns defense this season.

The Cleveland Browns upset the undefeated San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, October 15th in Cleveland. The Niners missed the game winning field goal.

The Browns winning this game put them to a positive 3-2 and Tied for 2nd in the AFC North. If they lost, they would go down to 2-3 and last in the AFC North with lower chances at the playoffs.

Niners young QB Brock Purdy led the Niners to a 15-game winning streak in the regular season coming into the game Sunday. The past season, the Niners have dominated almost every team they played, so they came into Cleveland with the same mindset.

Everyone expected the Niners to win big this game and continue their dominance, for them to lose this game shocked many people.

“I don’t think we deserved to win. We didn’t underestimate them, but they did play better than us. We haven’t lost in a long time in the regular season, so it hurts a lot more,” says DE Nick Bosa.

The Browns star QB Deshaun Watson was out with a shoulder injury, and backup QB PJ Walker was expected to start. The start of the 4th quarter the Niners scored a touchdown pulling them up 17-13. The Browns go on to score field goals to put them up 19-17. The Niners got good field position putting them in the spot to get a field goal, the kick was up and to the far right, making the Browns the winning team.

With bad blood boiling before the game, the Browns and the fans were going crazy over the win.

“I saw it in your eyes in the pregame. I saw it. I saw what this team is about. Now, are we perfect? We’re not, we’re not. But we have a good football team. When we stick together, when we stick together, we got a good football team,” says Browns head coach Kevin Stafanski.

The biggest part of that game and the part that stood out the most was the Browns defense. No one has seen a Browns defense like that ever. The defense would go on to force the Niners to punt many times, pick off an interception and sack the QB 3 times.

Defensive end Myles Garrett played a huge role in this game against the Niners.

“Not just on the defensive end, but all throughout the team and that kind of confidence we exuded it all through the week. I think you all just saw the beginning of it and just started to take notice. But we always bring that type of energy, and no matter who’s on the field, we know we can bang with anybody,” says Garrett.
