“Swagger” is about basketball players, their family and their coaches who face battles to get to their dreams and ambitions.
This show is about a basketball team with the players Jace Carson, Musa Rahaim, Drew Murphy, Phil, Royale and Nick Mendoez. Carson is the main character. He was one of the best basketball players in the DMV, and his dream was to make it to the NBA. Ike was the basketball player’s coach, so was Rahaim and Bailey, but Ike was the main one who wanted to see Carson succeed. Rahaim and Bailey made sure the other players were okay because they felt Like only cared for Carson. Ike didn’t just care for Carson though, Ike cared about everyone. He just wanted to be a 24-hour person for Carson because his father wasn’t in his life just like his. This show is also about color; the basketball team went out of town for their championship and stopped for dinner. As they sat and ate their food before the game, police started coming in racial profiling the colored one but didn’t do it to their coach who wasn’t colored. Carson also has this girl best friend named Crystal who also was a basketball player who was being sexually harassed by her coach. Carson and some of his basketball teammates made sure Crystal was okay by doing something. This show is emotional it’s about making it to their basketball dreams, getting into the college they want to, and being colored and judged it’s also about sexual harassment.
One good aspect of this show is the teamwork and friendship in their journey. People liked that because it showed how everyone had each other’s back no matter what the consequences were.
One downfall of this show is how people were being racially profiled just because of their color. Viewers did not like that because it made them feel a certain way it also made them feel several people were against their kind.
“Swagger” teaches you teamwork, friendship, leadership, forgiveness and hard times. The rating of this show is a 10/10 for showing how they never gave up no matter what came their way.
