Lexa Tovtin is a 18-year-old senior at Struthers High School.
Tovtin has been playing Softball for three years; she plays outfield and third base.
Like anything, she has positive aspects and negative ones.
“My favorite thing is that you create such a family-like environment with your teammates, and most days we are just having fun. My least favorite part about softball is how hard I get on myself or even how hard my teammates get on themselves as well,” says Tovtin.
Number 10 is going to Seton Hill University to major in Biology Pre-Med with a minor in Spanish. Though, she has decided to not continue playing softball in college.
The outfielder has also chosen to not pursue a professional career in softball.
“The stress I get from playing softball is not something I want during college,” says Tovtin.
For her last season, she simply just wants to have fun and be a person that the younger girls who play can look up to.
She even had a really good piece of advice for new up and coming softball players to high school.
“Instead of focusing on things that could possibly go wrong, just have fun because in the end it is just a game, and when you are having fun, it makes the game go smoothly, and it allows others to not be so tense,” says Tovtin.
