Issac Wolfe is a junior at Struthers High School and plays baseball. He has invested a lot of time and effort into being the best in the sport he loves.
Wolfe takes baseball seriously; it is what he grew up doing. It has stuck with him since he was a young kid; he has grown on the sport that he loves and succeeds in.
Sports can get hard and start to take a big toll on someone’s life and for Wolfe it has pushed him to be great.
“Baseball is a tough sport and it sometimes gets in my head but you just have to push through and persevere through the adversity. Baseball has been there for me when I was feeling down and I knew if I wasn’t happy with anything else, I would be happy playing baseball,” says the player.
Teammates mean the most on any team, in any sport. They help push each other through a hard practice or game. No matter what you are on a team and you work together for a great outcome; it takes more than one person to win.
Being involved and playing your part is expected by every player. Wolfe does his best to bring good energy to the team and keep people in check.
“People will be rude to each other and we need to have more positive energy and a better environment for our players, so they can be more motivated to win these games. I get along with everyone and overall they’re okay, but I feel like we can bring more energy to our games and not let a couple of bad plays ruin the entire game and focus on the next play. We NEED to be louder during our games,” says Wolfe.
Winning is the key to the players’ hearts, to any player for any sport. The baseball team has worked around any obstacles the best they can for the past couple years.
Any hard task that the team faces they do their best to overcome it.
“This season is off to a rocky start, but that’s just how it has been through the past few years and we fight through it and become a better team as the season goes on. We are a lot different from last year as we lost about 85% of our pitching with our seniors gone, and we lost a key catcher and shortstop as well but I have a strong feeling we will manage with the returning players from last year. We push through the adversity with people saying we’re a young team and aren’t going to be any good and fight for what we believe is right, which is winning,” says the baseball player.
