Marquise Wilkins is a junior at Struthers High School and four-year runner for Struthers track. He has also played football for the Wildcats for two years.
Wilkins has a huge passion for being the best version of himself. He keeps up with the practice that he needs, so he can progress.
The runner is active to start the new season this spring. Wilkins keeps prepared for the other opponents ahead. He runs 4×200 and the 400.
“What keeps me ready to run is I like catching up to people that are in front of me and showing them what I am capable of,” says Wilkins.
The team is very upbeat and they all encourage each other to do their best. Having a good environment around you can improve your performance while keeping the confidence up.
Wilkins enjoys the coaches as well as the team because they are always there for everyone, which helps Wilkins be better.
“The coaches and the other people on the team are enjoyable to be around because they take care of me and make sure I’m in the right mindset,” says the runner.
Continuing track for Wilkins is something he is interested in. Mostly, track keeps the players in shape and ready for other possible sports they are in.
Wilkins is a football player who also runs in track and field, which is a big advantage for his skills.
“I am running track next year because I have been running since 8th grade; it’s a legacy for me,” says the athlete.
