Kendis Macleod is a junior on the Struthers High School varsity football team. He was awarded second team All NEO and All-County for his outstanding work this past season.
Macleod is a starter and two-year letter-winner on the varsity team. All of these titles and awards are great to hold, but it takes plenty of effort and dedication.
The varsity star has devoted so much of his time to his football career this past season.
“I was the guy for whom no one showed appreciation, I worked hard, I cried most nights, and no one believed in me, but when I got on that field, I showed no mercy,” says Macleod.
The starter was quite shocked when he found out that he was named second team All NEO and All County.
Macleod felt that he was doing what was best for his team, but not necessarily what was best for him.
“I don’t know if I deserved it. I was just doing my job and doing what I could for the team. There shouldn’t be an award for that,” says the junior.
The multi-positioned athlete is very grateful for such an awesome junior season. He has some high hopes for both himself and the team next year. He hopes to make All State and also win the regional championship.
Macleod is looking forward to another great season for his upcoming senior year.
“I look forward to playing my last season with the people I care about most and having my friends and family cheering me on in the stands,” says the football player.
