Andrew Kopnicky is a student and basketball player at Struthers High School.
Kopnicky has been playing basketball for about eight years. He plays forward for the Wildcats.
Kopnicky has high hopes for this upcoming season, and he has a lot of faith in the team.
“I think we will have a better season because mostly all of us have been playing with each other for the past 2 years,” says Kopnicky.
Kopnicky became interested in basketball because of his brother. His brother played from a very young age, and he wanted to follow in his footsteps.
Kopnicky has been a part of Struthers basketball for a long time and has enjoyed every moment.
“My experience with Struthers basketball has been amazing. Winning the league twice, winning a district championship and just creating a new family with new teammates every season,” says Kopnicky.
Kopnicky is very drawn to basketball, and he enjoys the fans on the big game days. He loves coming into the gym and feeling the energy from the stands.
He is excited for the Wildcats upcoming game and can see them adjusting quickly.
“I feel like we will be just fine. Pretty much, for all of us, this will be our first varsity game. So, we may start out a little shaky, but after the first few minutes we will be just fine,” says Kopnicky.
