Michael Scavnicky is a senior at Struthers High School. He has played baseball for 13 years and has been on the high school team since he was a freshman.
He plays first base and pitches; he has always played these positions. The senior also has played football all four years of high school.
Sports are activities that can bring you closer to people you never imagined you’d connect with.
“The bond with my teammates that have become brothers outside of baseball and school,” says Scav.
The student athlete has created family like bonds with his teammates in both football and baseball.
Many people are inspired by celebrities, but for this senior it is his grandfather.
“My grandpa is the person who inspires me the most. He motivates me after every game with tips on how to do my best,” says the athlete.
The baseball player truly enjoyed his time with high school sports but is ready to move on to his future with something new.
People tend to create life long friendships with their teammates, and that’s something Scav has done. He did what he took great pleasure in and will truly miss it.
“Stay dedicated to what you love; don’t let anyone steer your ship but you,” says the baseball captain.
