“THE UNION” PORTRAYS BLUE COLLAR JOBS SECRET AGENTS

“The Union” is based on a conspiracy theory that blue collar workers are secretly working for the government. Mike McKenna (Mark Wahlberg) is the main character and Roxanne Hall (Halle Berry) is the side character he dated back in high school.

Mike is portrayed to be a bum, or even a no-body, which is why he is the perfect person to be an undercovered agent. The movie starts with showing Mike wasting his life away at a bar, then in a turn of events his high school sweetheart shows up coincidentally. She takes him out of the bar and to their first date spot as a through back memory. While dancing in that spot, she injects neutralizing fluid into him, when he wakes up he is in London. Roxanna and her boss explain everything to him and about the mission they needed him to do. After he agrees to the mission, they instantly start his training.

The movie has amazing effects and fight scenes that bring the movie to life. The action is off the reels, where every scene builds suspense towards the fight. The fights are so synchronized, and everything just falls right into place. Every movement is perfectly timed to enhance the environment of their surroundings. This movie does what most action movies can’t, and that’s making the fight scenes just flow together.

The movie shows very little background information towards all the characters. The movie could have done better giving more information about the few people that play as the main characters. There wasn’t much to know about Mike or Roxanne other than them being highschool sweethearts. The movie is so great that it just skips past all the background information on every single character. The movie just jumps the gun straight into action without preparing the viewer with information about the characters.

This movie earns a 9 out of 10 stars due to its action scenes. One thing that could make this show a 10/10 would be to make it a series rather than a movie to really show the background of the characters.
