The 2026 NFL draft was held in Pittsburgh on April 23 through the 25th.
A total of 10 Alabama players were selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, finishing just behind Ohio State for the most selections.
In the first round, offensive tackle Kayden Proctor and quarterback Ty Simpson were taken by the Cowboys and Rams. Simpson was the most surprising pick of the whole first round. Simpson was doubted by many scouts but somehow made his way to the second QB off the board at pick 13.
Former Alabama quarterback, Ty Simpson, is excited to play for a great organization.
“I’m super pumped, super blessed, to play for an organization like the Rams. To be under Coach McVay and learn from Matthew Stafford. It’s everything I could ask for,” says Simpson.
Alabama wide receiver, Germie Bernard, was picked in the second round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bernard racked up 155 receptions for 2,203 yards, 13 receiving touchdowns and 5 rushing touchdowns in his career.
Steelers draft pick, Germie Bernard, is ready to work and learn with the team.
“They trust that I can make explosive plays. I’m just ready to come in to learn from the older guys and be able to help the team succeed in whatever way they need,” says Bernard.
The Cleveland Browns went back-to-back on Alabama players in the draft. The Browns selected center Parker Brailsford and linebacker Justin Jefferson in the 5th round. Both players had successful years at Alabama and have a lot of experience.
Justin Jefferson, former Alabama linebacker and recent draft pick, is very eager to play this year.
“It’s very exciting…being able to run around, fly around and play some good ball, bring home the win, it means a lot to me. It means a lot to me to be chosen,” says Jefferson.
