Struthers High School Drama Club had its winter play “This is a Test” on November 14th and 15th at Struthers Middle School.
SHS Drama Club contains 12 actors who had dedicated their time to making sure the play went well. The Drama Club also has 19 crew members who are helping out the actors behind the scenes by controlling the sound and the lights.
Brooke Lane, an actor, loves the purpose and activities in Drama Club.
“I have always loved acting and have a large love for Broadway,” says Lane.
“This as a Test” was written by Stephen Gregg in 1988. The directors chose this play because they believed that it’s funny and relatable to the student body. The directors of Drama Club are Mrs. Angela Russo, Mr. Joshua Hawkins and Mr. Victor Norfus.
Angela Russo, a director, feels the play was successful.
“It exceeded my expectations and we had lots of good feedback,” says Russo.
Actors in SHS Drama Club aren’t only from the high school; many of the actors are in 8th grade at Struthers Middle School. Lane is a sophomore who has been in Drama Club for two years, loves growing close to the other members and enjoys being able to hang out with them.
She is excited to perform in front of an audience.
Lane says, “I also look forward to getting to act on stage in front of people.”
The spring play will be held on March 27th and March 28th.
