Josiah Rotan, junior, plans to attend a trade school after high school.

Josiah Rotan is a junior at Struthers High School.

The purpose of school is to educate young minds and prepare them for their futures. Every student is different and finds differing subjects difficult. So, students need to find what they like and learn how to achieve at the things they find difficult.

Rotan enjoys social studies because it’s the perfect balance between challenging and understandable for him.

“My favorite subject is social studies because it gives me a slight challenge, while I am still able to understand what is going on in the class,” says Rotan.

Outside of school, students have jobs, sports or extracurricular activities that they enjoy doing. Some activities may not be involved with school, but the students still enjoy and love spending their time doing it.

Rotan spends his time outside of school playing basketball, on the game and with his friends.

“Outside of school, I like to play basketball, hang out with my friends or play my game,” says Rotan.

Before graduation, students have to start thinking about what they want to do once high school is over. There are many options on what to do, but mainly, students go to a college and figure out what they want from there.

Rotan has decided he wants to get into a trade school. A trade school is a secondary school that teaches specific training for skilled crafts or a specific job.
