“The Wretched” is a movie that is popular for being on Netflix. Usually, Netflix horror movies will bore people, but this one is very interesting. It actually has an interesting plot with good jumpscares as well.

The 1 hour and 37 minute long movie was made in 2019 and is not a usual horror movie. The movie focused on Ben, whose parents are going through a divorce. All of the things he is claiming to be “weird” or things that he “sees” just looks like his way of coping with his parents not being together. The actual wretched-being is like a really skinny looking creature that comes off of a tree. It takes people from you and makes you forget them.

By the middle of the movie, Ben starts to figure out more about what the creature is and what he can do. He soon finds out that this girl he’s been hanging out with forgot she used to have a younger sister, so that would mean the wretched-being took her younger sister away.

Once Ben started to see things happen, no one really believed him, but by the end, they kind of had to. When he saves his friend’s sister, Ben also finds a boy. He ends up finding out he has a brother that the creature made him forget about. That is what makes this movie so interesting because of that plot twist.

Overall, this movie is for teens and young adults. It is rated 8.5/10.
