“The Nun” is another movie to add on to the background of the “Conjuring” series and “Annabelle” series.

The one hour and thirty minute movie from 2018 shows us a problem that happened at a church. Nuns were living, but there was an evil presence. A specific nun and pastor get sent to investigate what happened to the nuns that were living there before. The main character, Sister Irene, is played by actress Taissa Famiga and the demon nun is played by Bonnie Aarons. The acting and effects in this movie overall top a lot of horror movies. If you watch this movie, you will be jump-scared more than a couple times.

One thing you will notice in this movie is that the demon nun is the same nun from “The Conjuring Two.” That is what makes the two movies connected and that means that this movie is connected to the Annabelle series as well. When the movie continues on, Sister Irene and the pastor are investigating the church and weird things start to happen, such as seeing people who aren’t there getting locked in places and just the spirit messing around with them. They start seeing this thing posing to be a nun and that’s what makes it so effective. It is posing to be something holy when it’s really not. They soon realize that the spirit is very evil and very powerful, and they have to figure out how to stop its terror.

The acting and effects of this movie are what really make it scary. When you’re watching a movie, you don’t realize how much hard work goes into it because it’s so well put together. This is one of those movies where they knew what they were doing with the makeup, the sound and the scenery. Taissa Famiga’s acting was probably the best out of anyone else’s in this movie.

Overall, “The Nun” is recommended for anyone who likes horror movies, especially “The Conjuring ” series because there is so much backstory in this movie that relates to those movies. It is rated a 9/10.
