“Five Nights At Freddy’s” (FNAF) is a really big movie because of the huge fandom it holds. Almost anyone you ask has at least heard of it. The movie started showing in theaters on October 27th, 2023, but FNAF games and franchises started all the way back in 2014.

This movie starts out showing a nighttime security guard at an arcade/pizza place. Scenes and drawings are shown that will foreshadow the movie, but if you have played the games or know the lore, the pictures will mean a lot more. The movie continues to show a man and his younger sister. The man has a background from when he was very young and was told to watch his younger brother. He looks away for a second, and a strange man takes his little brother away and he never sees them again. When Mike gets the job as a nighttime security guard at this old-timey pizza place for kids, weird things start to happen, especially when he brings his little sister, Abby, to work with him.

This movie is great because its amazing plot. You have the whole backstory of Mike with his brother that he lost. He’s trying to fix it through his dreams because the event replays in his dreams. While that’s going on, he eventually has to bring his sister Abby to work with him. The animatronics at Mike’s new job become very fond of her to the point that they give him an ultimatum: he can rewrite the past and save his brother supposedly and the robots will take Abby or he can stay with his sister and never see what could’ve been if he had saved his brother.

The movie is also pretty interesting for all the twists it has. Whether you know the lore of the FRAF franchise or not, you still don’t expect the twists and turns it holds. Later in the movie, you find out that the “yellow bunny” who is a bad guy is Vannessa, the cop’s father that she always spoke very poorly of. There’s also the twist where Mike tries and chooses to save his brother who has been gone forever. But, he switches his mind because he knows that Abby is alive and Garret is gone, so he comes to his senses and has to fight for Abby.

Overall, “Five Nights At Freddy’s” is rated for teens and young adults, whether you know the “FNAF” backstory or not. This movie is very interesting, especially if you love horror movies. It’s rated 8.5/10.
