Aiden Russell is a junior football player for the Struthers Wildcats. He plays full back and is a linebacker.
The Cats did a phenomenal job by pounding the Poland Bulldogs in week 12. It was a great accomplishment that the team made, knowing that they are rivals.
The Wildcats had a great come back game with the score being 14-9 .
“Beating Poland was a great feeling and something that will be remembered forever, but we needed to forget about that game and focus on Lake Catholic,” says Russell.
As the linebacker says, the team needed to focus on Lake Catholic, and they moved on to play them after beating the bulldogs. With excited emotions from Russell, he believed that the Cats were going to put their best foot forward.
Struthers has never gone against Lake Catholic. It was a new chapter for them to enter and hopefully succeed in.
“We practiced hard and focused to beat a good Lake Catholic team,” says the athlete.
Struthers has a great set of football players on the team. They definitely are all dedicated to being hardworking teammates on and off the field.
Hiccups do occur in any team, but it is never a point where the Struthers Wildcats give up.
“I think we need to work on not getting into our own heads and causing foolish penalties,” says the player.
