Senior Scarlet Horvath is a volleyball player for Struthers High School.
Horvath has trained herself from 8th grade to now to be the best she could be for her favorite sport. She is very passionate about volleyball, and the sport has given her so much happiness.
Going to jump stretch and the gym has really strengthened her to be better.
“Since 8th grade I’ve been going to jump stretch and working out to be stronger and faster,” says Horvath.
When her dad told her to try out back in 8th grade, she was hesitant but did it anyway. Since then, she has been loving every second of the sport.
Horvath wasn’t quite sure about volleyball at first.
“My dad told me I should try out for it, and after the first open gym, I fell in love with it,” says the volleyball player.
The senior looks up to her big brother the most. He is very hardworking and confident and so is Horvath.
She admires her brother for numerous reasons.
“My brother reminds me a lot of myself with his motivation, confidence, and mindset. I think he’s super successful, and I want to be like him one day,” says Horvath.
Horvath is upset about this being her last season playing for Struthers but is excited for her next chapter to possibly be playing for a small D3 school.
