The Dallas Cowboys drafted Caleb Down from Ohio State on April 23, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
This is huge for the Cowboys because he is the best NFL prospect in the draft, and nobody knew he would have gone this far into the draft. He is going to be a problem for NFL teams.
Downs played three years of college football,;his first year with Alabama and his second year with Ohio State.
Downs is a very impressive football player on and off the field, and coaches love to have him on the team.
“This guy is one of the most complete people I’ve ever had the opportunity to coach,” said Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban.
In Downs’ three years of college football, he racked up 257 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 6 interceptions in 44 total games.
Downs proved himself a lot in these three years; his stats were very impressive. The kid has a lot of talent, and he is overall just gifted.
“He’s a phenomenal football player. His competitive IQ, how he responds on the field and reacts instinctively; it’s in the top tier of all players of all time,” said Saban.
Downs was selected by the Dallas Cowboys 11th overall in the first round of the draft.
Downs is already set to get better and improve what he can this off season for his upcoming rookie season with the Cowboys.
“By the sound of it, Downs is eager to get down to business and work with the Cowboys’ first-year defensive coordinator, Christian Parker,” said writer Lior Lampert.
