The Dallas Cowboys signed safety Jalen Thompson on March 12.
This decision for Dallas is great; they need more solid defenders. The Cowboys struggled last year on the defensive side of the ball, so this is a great pick up.
Thompson was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019 and played for them all the way up to this last season.
Thompson is excited for a change after playing with Arizona his whole NFL career.
“It’s been amazing. Blessed. Just an amazing opportunity to play for America’s team,” said Thomspon.
In the 2025 season, Thompson put up 95 total tackles; 58 of those being solo tackles and made a few turnovers.
Thompson can play anywhere on the field; he is an athlete and will do great things on the field.
“A physical safety, a safety that can do pretty much everything. I don’t consider myself just a safety, a DB in general,” Thompson.
Thompson has and will play different positions all over the field; he wants to do whatever to win and play.
The Cowboys are getting a great defender to lead and make change for this Dallas defense this season.
“The Cowboys are getting a versatile defender who doesn’t necessarily have a specific position label attached to him and can do whatever is asked of him in the secondary,” Thompson said.
