The Dallas Cowboys signed a new second string quarterback Will Grier to go behind starter Dak Prescott on February 2.
This decision is big for the Cowboys; last season they did not have a good quarterback behind Prescott. Having a good second string is always good in case anything ever goes sideways.
Grier last played for the Cowboys rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2024.
Grier is grateful to be woken up every day and being able to step foot onto the football field again.
“I wake up every day with great appreciation for life and appreciation to play this game,” Grier said.
In the 2025 season, Grier was on the Cowboys practice squad and built his way up to the actual roster.
Grier believes he can switch to the NFL and still succeed on the field when he needs to.
“It should be an easy, seamless transition for me to the NFL, and I’m looking forward to it,” Grier said.
In the 2019 season, Grier played and started two games for the Carolina Panthers; in those two games he threw for 228 passing yards, 4 interceptions and completed 28/52 of his passes.
Grier expresses that he has been through a lot of challenges when not playing football, and he is blessed to go through them again to better himself.
“I’ve been through some adversity where I didn’t have football. Having it back gives you an appreciation for every snap you can take. I’m just blessed to have that opportunity,” Grier said.
