The Raiders have hired Super Bowl Champion Klint Kubiak as their head coach for the 2026-2027 football season. Kubiak was signed by the Raiders on February 9th, 2026, shortly after his Super Bowl victory.
Raiders General Manager John Spytek confirmed the decision to hire Kubiak as their head coach.
Spytek commented on how Kubiak’s ability to score points is magnificent, but the decision to hire Kubiak was driven mainly by his personality.
“The fact that he can score a lot of points is awesome too, but we were more focused on the person, the humility, the work ethic, those traits above scheme,” says Spytek.
Raiders Owner Mark Davis put all of his trust in Spytek and Tom Brady to lead the negotiation for the hire of Kubiak.
Davis is very satisfied with the hire of Kubiak because of Kubiak’s background, such as his family and personality.
“There’s a lot of impressive things about him but again, just his way of being, his family, everything. He’s just really a nice young man, and he’s also competitive,” says Davis.
Raiders Defensive Coordinator Rob Leonard is ecstatic with him being given the opportunity to work with Kubiak.
Leonard wants to get straight to work with Kubiak and doesn’t want to waste any time with developing a physical defense and a scheme for the upcoming season with him.
“I think whoever that coach is, it’ll be really important that we establish a style of play, a physical style of play, and that’s offense and defense,” says Leonard.
