The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Chiefs on Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 27th) at AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys had a lot of momentum coming into this game, playing on Thanksgiving after beating the Super Bowl champs the week before.
The win over the Chiefs was very important; this put Dallas at 6-5-1, a loss would have held Dallas to missing the playoffs. The win now puts them one loss right behind the Eagles in the division.
Dallas started the game off very negatively; Dak Presscott threw an interception that led the Chiefs to score, putting them up 7-0 to start the game. This did not affect the Cowboys, they kept their heads up.
Presscott likes the pressure of playing both Super Bowl teams back to back weeks, giving them more spark to go out and shine.
“On top of where we put ourselves right before these games and just the place that we’re in, having to get these wins against two elite teams,” Prescott said.
The Cowboys went right back on offense and drove down the field making the score 7-7, Daking found Ceedee Lamb on a 15 yard pass.
Lambs expectations were no different coming off a short week of practice and having to play during Thanksgiving on a Thursday.
“Obviously it’s been a short week. Now we get a little time to rest, a regular week so to speak. We get our bodies back, relax, build, grow, get better and on to next week,” said wide receiver Lamb.
Dallas led 17-14 going into the second half. The third quarter did not have much action. Dallas held the Chiefs to zero points and added a field goal themselves, leading into the fourth 20-14.
Lamb is looking forward to keeping up the good work after beating two great programs back to back weeks.
“We’ve got to continue with the same mentality,” said Lamb.
The Dallas Cowboys went on to win the game 31-28, extending their win streak to three on Thanksgiving.
