The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Thursday, November 27th. With the return of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, him and his team were dedicated to getting back on a win streak.
With a four game losing streak prior to this game, Cincinnati gave their all, fighting hard to get their spot back in their division, with the help of the return of Burrow.
Kicking things off strongly, Bengals kicker Even McPherson kicks a 31 yard field goal, bringing Cincinnati up by three. But not long after, Ravens running back Derrick Henry runs in a 28 yard touchdown, for revenge.
After many games with backup quarterbacks, Burrow’s return gave the Bengals a sense of hope to keep going, as he got back into the groove of things.
“It’s a lot of fun to watch Joe Burrow play football. You could feel him get into a rhythm, and statistically, it’s not the best game we’ve ever had as an offense, but you could feel the rhythm he was in and the confidence he was in,” says Zac Taylor, Bengals head coach.
After three straight field goals from McPherson, Burrow found wide receiver Tanner Hudson in the endzone for a 14 yard touchdown. But not long after, Baltimore’s running back Keaton Mitchell ran in an 18 yard touchdown.
Putting work in, time and energy is what helps the Ravens win games.
“I feel like I’m seeing the field pretty good, for the most part, you know, but I just got to be consistent,” says Baltimore Quarterback, Lamar Jackson.
Ending things off strong, Cincinnati gets a 29 yard touchdown pass, with the follow up of two field goals in the fourth quarter.
Even though the Bengals gave the Ravens a crazy loss, they could have performed better, working on certain areas.
“Overall, I feel like we could have capitalized on a lot more. I’m pretty sure [Joe Burrow] would say the same, but I still think he did a good job of keeping the momentum going when he had opportunities to keep it going and capitalizing on those situations for the offense,” says Bengals wide receiver Ja’marr Chase.
