Syracuse’s men’s basketball team is ranked top-60 in KenPop; they started off ranked at number 68 and now are standing at number 57 in KenPop and 8th in the ACC .
With these rankings, they hope to get even better seatings set in by the next few weeks.
The Syracuse Orange are already off to a great start for the season, starting off 3-0 for their non-conference games, taking W’s over Del state, Binghamton and Drexel. Each game won by 30 or more.
Reporters believe the Orange have not shown much skill.
“The three-point percentage is especially intriguing. Providing some context, neither Binghamton (1/13) nor Delaware State (1/14) took or made their threes against the Orange. Both those opponents aren’t high-volume perimeter shooting teams. This is also a small sample size, and the efficiency especially will regress to the mean,” says NCAA reporter.
Syracuse’s best asset right now would be their defense. They have come down in the ranks for their defensive adjustments from last year and now are ranked around number 61.
The Orange will continue to defend their country.
“The Orange currently sit at No. 61 in adjusted defensive efficiency. That’s 39 spots higher compared to when it started the 2025-26 season at No. 100. Its current ADE is still 10th in the ACC, but it’s at least remarkably better than the preseason expectation,” said by NCAA reporters.
Syracuse is definitely taking advantage of their non-conference games. Playing teams a lot weaker than them helps them get a higher win percentage. This could either help them get better by playing as a team, or it could possibly hurt them in the long run by not playing good enough competition.
Orange has an incredibly weak strength ranking.
“KenPom has the Orange’s strength of schedule rating at No. 345. As of Sunday afternoon, only Washington has a lower rating among the P4 conferences plus the Big East,” said by NCAA reporters.
