The Lakers picked up a huge win against the Bucks on November 15 at the Bucks Arena. The Lakers came in needing the win to keep the momentum going early in the 2025-2026 season, and they played like it mattered.
This game was huge for the Lakers because the Western Conference is very competitive this year. Every win counts and beating a strong team like the Bucks helps keep the Lakers momentum going.
The Lakers started the game fast scoring right off the tip. They had pace early and the energy was high. The Bucks answered quickly, hitting two threes to tie the game 12 up.
Lebron James focused on keeping his team locked in and to keep playing smart basketball.
“We just wanted to come out with intensity,” James said.” Games like these ones show what type of team we want to be. We needed to keep the tempo and stay focused.”
The Lakers kept up the momentum in the second quarter, moving the ball well and getting great shots. Luka Doncic went off for 41 points, 6 assists and 9 rebounds.
Head Coach JJ Redick said he was confident the Lakers would respond after a slow last week. The Lakers showed improvement on both defense and offense.
“Everyone came ready today,” Redick said.” They played hard, and they trusted each other and stayed together. That’s the basketball we’re trying to build.”
After halftime, the Bucks tried to make a comeback but the Lakers defense stepped up. They turned their stops into easy points Austin Reaves hit a big three late in the 3rd to make it 88-78.
Teammate James talked about how Doncic keeps making play after play and motivates everyone.
“He leads every night,” James said about Doncic. “When he’s locked in like that it pushes the team to do better and they feed off that.”
In the fourth, the Bucks made a push it was just too late. The Los Angeles Lakers went on to win the game 119-95, earning a big win on the road early in the season.
