The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, November 16th. Pittsburgh was dedicated to get the win and get their payback from the last time the two played.
Going back a month, the Bengals beat the Steelers, so to get their getback, the Steelers brought their all, fought hard and crushed Cincinnati.
Last month when the two rivals played, the Steelers let wide receivers Ja’marr Chase and Tee Higgins get 22 catches, 257 yards and 2 touchdowns. But this time with the Steelers locked down defense, they let the two wide receivers only get 6 catches, 93 yards and 1 touchdown.
Though it’s upsetting to see Cincinnati lose, Pittsburgh put the time and effort in to win on their part.
“Disappointing game. You got to give them credit, they did the things you need to do to win these games in the AFC North, November and December football,” said Bengals head coach, Zac Taylor.
Still early in the first quarter, running back Kenneth Gainwell got an 11 yard touchdown pass, giving Pittsburgh their first points.
Later down the road matters more than winning a game now, although winning is a great achievement.
“It feels good right now, but it’s about what happens moving forward, and it always is,” said Pittsburgh head coach, Mike Tomlin.
With the final score of the game, Bradin Echols of the Steelers crushed Noah Fant, forcing a fumble and a 33 yard touchdown for the Steelers by James Pierre.
Though the Bengals defense played great, they could have done better on both offense and defense.
“I thought they did a lot of good things today. It’s just a shame the way that when we’re kind of not matching each other right now and playing both sides as well as we can at the same time,” says Joe Flacco, Bengals quarterback.
