The Denver Broncos defeated the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, October 26 at Mile High Stadium. Denver had all the momentum going into the fourth quarter, leading by thirteen points. The Broncos executed their plays right on both sides of the ball and made a few turnovers to secure the win.
This was a huge game for the Cowboys; Denver was heading into this game first in their division with a five game win streak. Dallas could have knocked them down a seed and gained a seed themselves with the win.
The Broncos started the game off with the ball. Rookie cornerback Trikweze Bridges for the Cowboys came up with a huge interception giving Dallas momentum.
Bridges showed no fear against the Broncos, ending the game with four total tackles, two pass breakups and his first ever interception.
“God was able to help me today, and that’s what I ask. I just ask God to help me to play, perform to the best of my abilities and just not worry about anything else,” says Bridges.
At half time, Dallas was down 27-10. Dallas got the ball first in the second half and drove down in thirteen plays. Running back Javonte Williams punched in a one-yard touchdown to keep the game going at 27-17.
Williams and his team need to make big plays on both sides of the ball, and everyone needs to accomplish their job together.
“I’m just going to go out there and play my game, do what I’ve got to do, and try to make plays for my teammates,” says Williams.
In the fourth quarter, the Cowboys were fighting to stay in this game. Dak Prescott found wide receiver Jalen Tolbert on a thirty five yard touchdown pass. This gave Dallas some leeway, but not enough, trailing 44-24.
Team leader Prescott and the team could not find their click in Sunday’s game against Denver. They struggled to keep their heads in the right mindset and step up when needed.
“I hope. I trust and I like the guys we have,” Prescott said if a trade can provide a boost. “I honestly do, that’s not just a political answer. Our roster is OK. Can it be better? That’s for you guys to write about and judge … Forget a trade, do more. Step up and shut the talk up.”
The win for Denver keeps their win streak going, putting them at 6-2, while the Cowboys drop to 3-4-1.
