The Warriors played the Nuggets at home for their second NBA regular season game. The Warriors won 137-131 on Thursday, October 23.
If the Warriors keep playing how they are, they will be finals contenders.
Both teams came into this game knowing they’re going to be the top dogs this year. Stephen Curry played a fantastic game, along with Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon.
Curry finally stepped back up to his MVP level playing style.
NBA reporter says, “The dirty little secret is Curry struggled at times last season. That is, struggled to elevate himself to his standard.”
Gordon is playing great; he has also been a solid player when he played for Orlando, and even has many fans from when he participated in the dunk contest. Denver is really happy with his recent performance.
Gordon showed why he deserves his stars and stripes.
NBA reporters said, “So when he shot 10-for-11 from deep to bolster his 50-point total — the fourth-most points in a season opener in NBA history.”
The Warriors finally put away the Joker, “Jokic,” after Nikola Jokic won MVP multiple times, while also being a former NBA champion. The Warriors finally got their strike on the Nuggets.
Power forward Draymond Green locked up the Joker.
NBA reporters said, “But give the Warriors a salute for that, and especially Draymond Green and Al Horford. It was Green who went solo on Jokić on that fourth-quarter miss; the defense was near-perfect.”
