The 2025 College World Series Champions LSU (NCAA) and LSUS (NAIA) went to the White House for a ceremony to recognize their accomplishments on Monday, October 20.
President Trump hosted the Tigers and the Pilots.
This accomplishment doesn’t just bring attention to LSU; it brings attention to the whole state of Louisiana. LSUS is another Division 1 program in the Bayou who won a World Series title this past season. LSUS was recognized for their first time ever winning a world championship. LSU, on the other hand, has been congratulated in the White House 7 times prior to this.
The players represented themselves very well on the field and in the White House, and Trump was very impressed with it.
“I think we should bring them into government,” Trump jokingly said.
The LSUS Pilots had a history-making season being the first ever college baseball team to go undefeated (59-0). This is remarkable and most likely will never be done again. The LSU team, on the other hand, went (53-15) and were the NCAA World Series champs. Both coaches of the team got great recognition last Monday in the biggest monument in the US. These teams made a huge name for the state of Louisiana, and it did not get swept under the rug. President Trump had nothing but positive things to say about these teams, and millions were able to see that.
These teams hope to keep this same demeanor for next season and be right back in the White House next fall holding 2 more trophies.
“It’s rare for two teams from one state to be in one room, but these are incredible teams who had amazing seasons,” said President Trump.
The LSU Tigers defeated Coastal Carolina in a 3-game sweep to win the World Series, and the LSUS Pilots defeated Southeastern University of Florida. Both of these series were very competitive and well played allowing both Louisiana schools to come out on top. These levels of baseball are watched all over America, and people everywhere will talk about Louisiana for a long time.
President Trump understood how challenging Division 1 baseball is, so he showed respect to all the players on their success.
“Division 1 baseball in the landscape we have now is incredible to me,” said President Trump.
