The Wildcats took on Lakeview and Hubbard on Tuesday, April 9 at a three team track meet. The Wildcats had good runners and throwers for both boys and girls.
The 4×1 team for the boys did very well. The boys ended up finishing in second place. They had a close race all the way up until the last couple meters when Lakeview pulled away and won the race. The 4×1 girls team had a very good race that came down to the last 200 meters, but Lakeview girls kept it moving and got first place.
The boys did very well in the 4×1.
“I feel like we did pretty well. I slipped out the blocks, we made a couple mistakes with the handoffs, and we were still able to place 2nd by a pretty good margin, so I think if we perfect everything we could be very good,” says Christian Pascarella.
The long jump crew thought they got all their jumpers, but the white piston still had to jump. Pascarella jumped and got 3rd place in long jump, and he is just getting started.
Pascarella had a long day doing multiple events but found a way to go jump.
“I am honestly a little disappointed in the outcome. I have been jumping in the 18 feet range, but last year and in practice I have been in the 19 and 20 feet range so I feel like I need to do a lot better in these next meets,” says Pascarella.
Braylon Myers was one of the most outstanding throwers we had. He walked in the meet as only a shot put thrower and walked out as first place winner in the shot put and discus.
Myers was doing his best and came out the best.
“I mean I felt like I did pretty well placing first and to be honest, I put work in throughout the week and the results showed when the track meet came,” says Myers.
