Ava Pokopatz is a 17-year-old senior that attends Struthers High School and runs track. Ava has been running track since middle school, and is a two-year letter winner so far.
Pokopatz has always loved track and has had a passion for running. No matter if it is by herself or with her girls, she is always trying to better herself.
Pokopatz is ready for this upcoming track season with her team. She is ready to take leadership and show up and out.
“I am going to be attending more practices and work outside of track practice as well, so I will be ready and prepared for the season,” says Pokopatz.
With this being Pokopatz’s last year, it is very upsetting, but the athlete never fails to have a positive attitude no matter what.
Pokopatz is upset about being leaving soon, but is very excited for what her future holds.
“I am honestly really sad to say it’s my final year, but I am looking forward to my future plans,” says Pokopatz.
The track team has been very successful over the years, and Pokopatz plans to keep that reputation going this season and also into her college years.
Pokopatz is hoping for a great season for the Struthers Wildcats.
“I will be considering running in college, it depends. I have to see how this season goes and see if I do want to pursue that passion I’ve had,” says the runner.
