The Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers played in Philadelphia on December 3rd, and the outcome was unexpected.

Last year, the Eagles were defeated by the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Although they lost a few pieces in the off season, they were still projected to be one of the best teams in the league. As the season progressed, the Eagles earned a record of 10-1 before the 49ers game.

Philadelphia has been one of the most successful teams in recent history, and they continue to prove it every week.

“The Philadelphia Eagles are going to be one of the most anticipated teams to watch on the NFL calendar this season, thanks to a thrilling Super Bowl appearance and an NFC Championship last year. Philadelphia won a franchise-record 14 regular season games and cruised through the NFC playoffs en route to Super Bowl LVII,” says analyst Jeff Kerr.

The 49ers have also been very successful in recent history, and just like the Eagles, they have a recent Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs. San Francisco has been a contender for multiple years now, and with arguably the best defense in the league and one of the best offenses, they are guaranteed to win games.

Up until this game, San Francisco had a record of 8-3.

“San Francisco should be good again this year in their quest to get over the NFC championship hump that’s thwarted them in each of the last two seasons,” says analyst Kyle Madison.

The 49ers started off slow, being outscored 6-0 in the first quarter. Later into the game, they picked up the pace, outsourcing the eagles 42-13 during the remainder of the game. The San Francisco offense was too much for the Eagles, and they struggled to stop them the entire game.

49ers Quarterback Brock Purdy had an amazing game, throwing for over 300 yards.

“Purdy threw for 314 yards and four touchdowns and the San Francisco 49ers overcame a shaky first quarter to pound the host Philadelphia Eagles 42-19 on Sunday in a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship Game,” says Field Level Media.
