The Youngstown State Men’s Basketball team has a total of 8 transfers on their active roster for the 2023-2024 season, including 4 new freshmen and 3 returners.

The Penguins are going to have a big roster with the average size being around 6 ‘7”.

YSU has one starter returning, which is Brandon Rush, a 6 ‘3 5th year guard.

All of the players are excited to play with each other.

“I’m really enjoying this team,” says Rush.

Brandon Rush has a total 1,294 career points. He was a transfer last year from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

The star returner is ready for the atmosphere in the Beeghly Center this season.

“It makes it fun, honestly as much as we all on the court doing what we do, we need our coaches. But we also need the fans,” says Rush.

The Penguins bring in Ziggy Reid, EJ Farmer, David Wilkerson, Brett Thompson, Imanuel Zorgvol, Bryson Langdon, Jaylen Bates and DJ Burns.

Senior Guard Brandon Rush knows that the fans will make a huge home court advantage.

“So having them meet the men’s and women’s team is actually very good for all of us,” says Rush.
