TANGLED UP IN RAPUNZELS STORY

TANGLED UP IN RAPUNZELS STORY

“Tangled” is a Disney movie that came out in 2010. It’s mainly for a kids audience but could be enjoyable for other ages as well. Rapunzel is a princess who got kidnapped as a baby and was raised there her whole life. Her “mother” would not let her leave the tower because it was “unsafe.” On Rapunzel’s 18th birthday, she tried to convince her mother to let her leave, but she wouldn’t let her.

Rapunzel was born with her parents as the king and queen. Her mother drank a potion while she was pregnant that gave Rapunzel magic powers and the power to heal things through her hair. Mother Gothel wanted to remain young forever, so after they had Rapunzel, Mother Gothel wanted a piece of the hair, but when she cut it, it turned brown instead of blonde. She took Rapunzel instead. No one could ever find her because she was locked in a tower hidden away. On her 18th birthday, Rapunzel had begged to go outside because she hasn’t her entire life. Mother Gothel would not let her, but she agreed to make her favorite meal for her birthday, but the ingredients would take days to get. Once she left, a boy named Flynn Rider had been running from people because he stole a crown from them trying to find somewhere to hide quickly he ran towards the tower. He saw the tower and climbed up, when he got inside Rapunzel got scared and hit him with a frying pan. A little while after, Flynn took her outside.

Not too long after they left, Mother Gothel got home and when she discovered Rapunzel wasn’t there she freaked out. She went out looking for her. During this, Flynn and Rapunzel are having a long fun trip. They run into a few obstacles but overcome them quite easily. Nighttime came around and they made a fire. Mother Gothel found them and her and Rapunzel started arguing. While they go to see the lanterns set every year on Rapunzel’s birthday, in hope that she’ll come home, she falls asleep, and Flynn has gotten taken. When she goes back to the tower, she realizes she’s not Gothel’s real daughter, and she’s the lost princess. Flynn comes to save her, but he gets hurt by Mother Gothel, so he cuts Rapunzel’s hair and Gothel now has no power.

Two enjoyable factors of this movie is how family-friendly it is and the work put into the animation. It could be for any audience; a lot of people in their teens and adults still really enjoy this movie and so do kids. It has a comedic factor and has a lot of action which makes it fun. The work put into this movie to make it look good is incredible as well. Creating ideas for the movie and scenes then taking six years to fully create it and edit it.

The movie overall deserves a 5/5 stars. The amount of work and effort put into it and its showing is great and they didn’t have a “target audience” they made it enjoyable and watchable for any age. It has so many different “genres” like action, comedy, adventure, drama and many more. This makes it fun and not boring to watch.
