CLARK GUIDES TEAM TO VICTORY

Paul Clark is a sophomore student athlete at Struthers High School. He is a proud member of the Wildcats boys’ football team.

Clark only plays football, but he has played this sport for about 5 years now. Even though throughout the season he has his hardships, he still enjoys the support of his teammates and coaches.

Playing this sport for so long, Clark has an idea on what may be the most important aspect of participating in this.

“Making split second decisions, in games you have less than a second to decide on what you should do,” says the athlete.

The biggest piece of advice Clark could give to upcoming players is to show up to practice and practice like you would play in a game. This is very important because it gives coaches the chance to see your full potential and how much effort you are willing to put in.

Clark has been playing this sport for a while, but he will always remember who inspires him both on and off the field.

“Braylon Myers was a 3-year starter at the same position, all conference player and teaches me what I still need to learn,” he says.

As the sophomore grew up, his family has always loved football. Between going to games and watching them on the TV, to actually being in them has made a big impact on him.

The sophomore has only ever had experience with football, but he has another sport in mind that he would be interested in.

“I used to play baseball when I was younger, and it is something I still enjoy to watch. I don’t play anymore because it would cause me to miss part of the football offseason,” says Clark.
