PERDUE CHALLENGES FOOTBALL SEASON

King-John Perdue is a sophomore student athlete at Struthers High School. He is a proud and dedicated member of the Wildcats football team.

King may only play football, but he has participated in this sport for about 10 years now. Although there may be some struggles throughout the season, Perdue tends to enjoy the company and support of his teammates and coaches.

The athlete has only played football, but he has a different sport in mind that he would enjoy playing.

“If I didn’t play football I would probably play basketball. The reason why I’ll play basketball is because it seems cool and very exciting to play. I love fast paced games,” says the sophomore.

During the offseason, he likes to get in the gym and go to the field to work on his skills to better him for the next. Even though the sophomore still has a long way to go, he still sees room for improvement.

Not only does the athlete want to improve, he also wants to apply these aspects to his skills.

“Discipline is the most important aspect to have in football because you have to have the mind set of taking a hit and showing your abilities to the team to make it to varsity,” says Perdue.

As the student athlete grew up, he was inspired by his father to play football. Seeing his father do this made Perdue determined to be just like him as he got older.

The sophomore may have been inspired by his father, but there is one specific professional athlete that did it all for him.

“I look up to Odell Beckham Jr. because he has been my favorite player since I was 6 years old,” says Perdue.
