Ms. Yargo is a dedicated English and creative writing teacher known for her passion for literature and helping students grow as writers. When asking how students feel about her class, you often hear that students feel that comfortable “home” vibe. Her commitment to education has made a lasting impact on many of her students.
Yargo has 12 years of experience teaching English and working with students on reading, writing and grammar skills. She helps students understand stories and express their personal ideas. Her class often includes discussion and writing activities. She explains things in a way that just makes sense.
The English teacher mentions her teaching background.
“I have been teaching for twelve years, and I have always taught English, working with students from grades 7-12,” says the teacher.
The English teacher also encourages students to think deeper about what they read and write. She believes books help people understand different perspectives. She even does “Flip Fridays” where students record themselves talking about their books. This helps students stay involved and share their ideas.
Every day is unlike the last; switching it up helps practice more.
“Some days are challenging, but I have always enjoyed teaching. I like challenging the students, creating projects and seeing them become more confident,” says Yargo.
She tries to balance what students want with what is best for them. She includes students’ interests but also makes sure they learn important material. She knows they can’t only read what they want all the time. This helps students grow in different ways.
Yargo mentions how she likes to keep working 50/50.
“I try to balance what students want and what is best for them, while still making sure they learn important material like Shakespeare,” says the creative writing teacher.
