Leah Hall is a cheerleader at Struthers High School this year as a freshman.
Hall has cheered since second grade, all the way up to now, without any breaks. She doesn’t plan to quit anytime soon and keep cheering throughout the rest of her high school career.
The cheerleader stays driven and confident to not give up cheer.
“I stay motivated because I think the feeling that I get while performing during cheer makes me want to do it for the rest of my life,” said Hall.
Within the years, she has learned different things from coaches that got her to where she is today. With such advice, she would like to pass it on to incoming cheerleaders of all ages.
Hall believes that if you try and listen, you can cheer to any level you want.
“My advice would be to listen to your coaches and the advice they give you while cheering, and get into the habit of doing things correctly,” said Hall.
From elementary to middle to high school, she has met many cheerleaders who turn into friends she still has today. Hall uses cheerleading as an outlet from academics, while still getting good grades, and meeting new people, all within one sport.
Hall has gained many things from cheerleading throughout her career.
“I think my biggest benefit from cheering is all of the girls I got to grow up cheering with that I still talk to today,” said Hall.
Now that she is in high school, there are new people and new coaches to assist her in being the best version of herself. This year she cheered for freshman games only but has already made growth by making varsity for next year’s cheer team.
