PATTI LEADS POINT

Jacob Patti is a junior at Struthers High School. He plays basketball and football; he also participates in the Interact Club and Future Teachers Club and holds a 3.7 GPA. Patti has been playing basketball for 10 almost 11 years. He was inspired to play because he watched his older brothers play as he grew up which made him want to do the same.

Patti played on our varsity and JV team this season; the JV team has a pretty good record with team chemistry and have strengths individually. Each athlete holds memories from each season, but Patti has a specific one in mind.

Our athletes use the season as a place to make memories with their team and coaches.

“My favorite memory this season was when we got our first NE8 win against Lakeview. The whole game was intense, and the whole team was excited,” says the junior athlete.

The basketball player believes to have a better season next due to the chemistry that the boys have; the seniors next year would have been playing together for 10 almost 11 years.

Patti explains that the team should be a top contender in the NE8 in this upcoming season.

“I believe that we have the tools to be a top contender in the NE8 because of our seniors’ experience and our team chemistry,” says the future teacher.

The junior athlete plays point guard and shooting guard; he also just goes where the coach needs him which is a good characteristic to have as an athlete. He also believes he is a better offensive athlete than defensive.  Patti does not wish to continue athletics after his senior year.

The football player is a utility player who doesn’t question the coaches’ choices.

“I play both point guard and shooting guard, depending on the lineup around me and what the coach needs,” says the junior.
