“INTERSTELLAR” IMMERSES AUDIENCES ACROSS THE GLOBE

“Interstellar,” directed by Christopher Nolan, was released on October 26, 2014. The film grossed over $770 million worldwide.

The film has a total runtime of about 2 hours and 49 minutes. The main character Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) has to leave his family to save the Earth from the blight destroying Earth’s plants and lowering its oxygen levels. He spends a few years in space trying to stop it, translating to about 90 on Earth. The movie also stars Jessica Chastain as Cooper’s daughter Murph and Anne Hathaway as his fellow astronaut, Brand.

The movie soundtrack really brings the whole movie to life. It adds another level of emotion to the audiences, making the film so much more impactful. The soundtrack is fully composed and arranged by the multi-award winning Hans Zimmer. The main theme is highlighted multiple times throughout the film, bringing a feeling of longing and nostalgia.

The acting is also phenomenal. McConaughey does a fantastic job of portraying a father and his love for his children. Throughout the film, Cooper receives messages from his children as they grow on Earth. It’s when he realizes that he’s completely missed his children’s entire lives, including the birth of his grandchildren. These moments are some of the most impactful and emotional scenes in the entire film.

Overall, “Interstellar” deserves a 10/10 for its phenomenal acting, incredibly moving soundtrack and spectacular directing.
